Neighbourly …

Anyone been on the neighbourly app? My husband offered my crochet services to a lovely lady, I was pleased to help!

Here’s the original blanket, it just needed some finishing touches.

I decided to use up the yarn she had given me and did 7 rows of double crochet around the edge after I had done a single crochet row around the blanket.

I finished it with crab stitch which I haven’t used before but I loved the rolled edge and I’m sure I will use it again.  A lovely project completed and Ann is thrilled with it.

Have a lovely evening!

Its’ been six months…

So it’s been pretty much 6 months to the day since i’ve blogged! The year has delivered new challenges but I can now say we are through to the other side of it and are now enjoying life more!

I’m taking a bit of a different angle this year, with the tag line – creating beautiful things – whether it be painted furniture or handcrafted pieces.  Most are one off creations with the exception of snowcapped painted mountains and crochet fruit which I can make to order. You can visit my website to make an order and I am happy to ship throughout New Zealand and to Australia.

These handcrafted pieces look very sweet in your precious one’s bedroom on display, here are a few photos from recent customers.

We farewelled our oldest daughter to the UK 6 weeks ago, the upside of this is I now have a sewing room, which I have to say is nearly too small!! Here is my first blouse and bloomers! Size 12 months. These are available now $50 for the set. Go to website for details on that and the ear flap hat and a few other one off pieces.

Here’s my latest painted piece, I used Moth by Heirloom Chalk Furniture Finish, I love it and it is waiting for it’s new owner!! Email me if you are keen, only in South Island NZ thou 🙂moth6.JPG

Have a great day and will post again soon with more creations!

Wow again ages since a post…. Oak Dresser Makeover

Hello there!

So again ages since i’ve posted… i thought life was going to slow down but no… it’s gained more speed and momentum!

So our No 1 daughter is moving out in 10 or so days (same town, different suburb which makes it slightly easier)…. it’s going to be so unusual and strange having both girls left home within weeks of each other! So again the major pack and sort, clean and paint her place is about to get under way… She has a great eye for design and I am enjoying watching it all come together for her! Easter will be here soon enough and yeah everyone will be here together, so will be cherishing those moments!

So a makeover! Here’s the before…

And the after… I wanted to go all white with this but it just didn’t work so ended up with Chalk Furniture Finish Antique then a dark wax finish.

The seat is covered in Pear furnishing fabric.  The set is up for sale!

I will also be at the Beacon Hill Country Shabbychic Market this Saturday with paint and a small amount of furniture and some crochet goodies!

March 28th Shabby Chic Flier

Kate’s Crochet Blanket

So pleased to have Kate’s blanket finished for her!  I’m sure she and her Mum will love it!

Inspired by Peony’s, the blanket has come together beautifully!  The first two rounds of stitches belong to the Sunburst Square then the fine green yarn is chain and single crochet, the square is then finished off and joined together with double and triple crochet.  The edging is a combination of chain, single crochet and double crochet stitches.

Here’s Max’s finished gingham style blanket I blogged on earlier this year. You can see more pictures here.

Max and Kate’s blankets ready to go!

I’m looking forward to seeing pictures of the kids wrapped up in their blankets!

Take care
